There are two main categories in still images: Photographs and Drawings.
Photos
Photos can be touched up in brightness or contrast. A very common task is “red eye” removal.
Resizing is necessary for some applications as well. Photos for professional printers often need to be presented in different
color specifications (usually graphics are displayed in RGB and not in CMYK, as needed for printing).
here I had photos of the gate I used in this site, the garege does not look so appealing, with some photo editong I inserted the garden from the same propety behind the garage so it looks the garden is visable from the front gate.
Some effects can be achieved with photo collage when several photos are put together.
Following is an example of a web album, click on the photos to enlarge this click on an empty space to see the smaller

Drawings
Drawings are created with a graphic program on the computer and can be edited differently from photos. Drawings are usually created in layers so that different elements can be separately manipulated until exported and compressed.
Here is an example of a Logo which I prepared and exported in different forms for different purposes.
All these Logo samples can be viewed in their original full sizes by clicking on each image.
